Thank You for Making the 2023 Red Canyon Powwow a Success!

We are filled with immense gratitude and joy as we reflect on the 2023 Red Canyon Powwow in Moab, Utah. This year’s event was a remarkable success, thanks to the incredible community, dedicated visitors, and passionate participants who came together to celebrate our rich Native American heritage. Special thanks to Alex Shepherd, Baac Garcia, Patricia John, Patrick Willie, and Young Spirit for joining us this weekend as our head staff.

A Spectacular Attendance

We were thrilled to welcome almost 1,200 visitors to the powwow grounds this year! The energy and excitement were palpable as 180 talented dancers and singers showcased their skills and traditions. The vibrant performances were truly a sight to behold and a powerful reminder of the beauty and resilience of our culture.

A Vibrant Marketplace

Our outdoor market was a bustling hub of activity, featuring over 20 arts and crafts, and food vendors. We are proud to offer a space where many native artisans and businesses can set up for the weekend. Visitors enjoyed shopping for authentic Native American jewelry, arts, and crafts, as well as savoring delicious traditional foods. The market provided a perfect complement to the beautiful powwow dancing taking place just next to it, creating an unforgettable experience for everyone.

Heartfelt Gratitude

We extend a special thank you to our sponsors: Utah Division of Indian Affairs, Waterford Upstart, and Grand County. Your support and partnership were instrumental in bringing this event to life.

To our amazing volunteers, your hard work, dedication, and sacrifices are the heartbeat of this event. Your contributions ensured that everything ran smoothly and that every visitor felt welcomed and appreciated. We couldn’t have done it without you.

A Space for Our Youth

This powwow is more than just an event; it is a space for our Native American community, especially our youth, to learn, practice, and celebrate our cultures and traditions. We are committed to providing a platform where our younger generations can connect with their heritage and be proud of their identity.

Looking Forward

As we look back on this year's success, we are already filled with excitement for the future. Thank you once again to everyone who made the 2023 Red Canyon Powwow a memorable event. Your presence and support mean the world to us. We can’t wait to see you all again next year!

Stay connected with us on Facebook and Instagram for updates and future events. Together, we will continue to celebrate and honor our vibrant Native American culture.
