Indigenous people from across Utah come together in a grassroots effort to support Indigenous development within their own community.

The Co-founders of Cultural Fire Events believe that Indigenous people thrive when they are culturally connected. They started hosting powwows and events to create safe places to reinforce a sense of community and belonging for the Indigenous population of Utah and the Southwest. These events help strengthen the identity of Native American youth and families living off of the reservation and away from their communities. Helping Indigenous youth to be strong and rooted in their Native American heritage has not only been shown to help reduce rates of suicide, drug & alcohol addiction, and domestic violence but also contributes to preserving culture & language.

Mission

Cultural Fire Events is an Indigenous-led nonprofit organization that serves Indigenous people by creating spaces to develop stronger communities across the Southwest and connect through cultural celebrations and practices.

Vision

We see a future where Indigenous people are grounded in their identity and traditional ways of life in today’s society. We do this through hosting community events to strengthen and lead the next seven generations so that they have a future where they can thrive and prosper.

Purpose

Our purpose is to uplift Indigenous people by hosting decolonized events.
